I've heard the new new Bonny is going to be water cooled but disguised to look like an air cooled unit. Stupid if you ask me.

Upped the main jets by one size and it ran sweet.

I had a 68-69 Bonnie (Last of the summer wine model) was definitely the best model IMO, the one in pics is T140 73ish it was oil tight unique for a triumph (You might have your priorities wrong)

Doesn't look like it but it needs quite a bit of cosmetic work. May also do an engine rebuild if I have time. Just bought a '67 T100 in better nick to use until I get it all done. Love my old Triumphs, takes me back to my youth, always wanted a Bonnie when they came out in the '50s but couldn't afford one then [new around £300]. You're right about oil leaks, but it went along with British bikes of that era. Yours would probably been an OIF model?.

Put a norton commando crankshaft in it, 89mm stroke = 830cc, and it gets the eager to rev characteristic of the 650's back

Lovely, the 68 and 69 triumphs were the best looking of the unit bikes.

These first ones were under £300, at that time I had T100 that I sprayed Bonnie colours, trying to kid myself, you know what lads are like. £300 at that time was a lot of money to me, IIRC I paid around £80 for the '55 T100.

Was that the two tone blue one ? That certainly looked the business. The americans didn't like the tangerine colour scheme.

Jordan, the t100 wasn't a bad bike either, especially the one with the all aluminium engine, and the close pitch finning, lovely engine.

I had a 1050 Speed Triple a few years back, different ball game,much better performance, handling and overall build, but I still prefer my old Triumphs, nostalgia I suppose.
