its a grey area but you should be able to fit that part yourself

its if you open the silver chamber above where your not as thats the gas side of it

Technically on that boiler the outer case is decorative so the law says it should be a gas safe engineer, however if anything untoward happened afterwards it would be viewed very dimly

A Duo tec is not a new boiler, if it was registered and serviced they will honour the warranty.

It also says the installer has to register it, I dont get why this is a problem because you shouldn't be fitting a boiler yourself

I fitted one yesterday, using the installer app I registered it and got confirmation of the 10 year warranty

its the part i dont like kayos most companys are passing the guarantee to installer or shop when the maker should be responsible for its item

a company can close shop or go bust or amalgamate that makes peoples warrantys null and void

I've spoken to the original installers what when originally installed said it's a 10 year warranty but now as it's gone wrong it seams another conpany took over and for xyz it's not (not going in to this been there done that for the last 2 days there is no movement on this)

they say the he a model mine is just the he and on the paper work there is a sticker with 2 year warrenty on it

the boiler is registered with baxi and they confirmed the 2 year no more

ive got a quote from plumb center and city plumbing for the parts £40 plus vat motor £110 for valve plus vat that as a cash im assuming my plumber would get a better price as would get discout so will ask him for a price for the lot inc install see what he comes up with

just had a call back from a local supplyer £32 and 88 plus the vat

update phones the enginer last night he said local agents close to me has the parts from the part numbers given to me by baxi themselfs the day before so went and picked up the parts this morning ready for the bloke to install

thinking i had 20 mins before work i thought id cheak the parts looking like even baxi dont know what parts they installed in to each boiler as i can get my finger all the way down the back of the brass valve and cant find the bypass pipe or entry in the valve they given me i cheaked the part number and yes the plumb place had given me the correct part but im sure its wrong so rung up asked if they got the other i now have 2 valves at my house waiting to be installed working on the basis it must be one of the 2 so aleast we got the right one and will return the other next day

and while i was there i removed the plug on the motor valve all driping with water so cleaned up as best as i can and left it dangling down so it got most of the day to dry out before the new part is fitted

and once the plug is removed yes the boiler does power on with out triping the rcd so its looking like it is the problem
