Otherwise known as a blacksmith vice...my grandad gave his to my cousin...![]()
I just bought a record #6 for my welding bench
We reguarly cast fresh lead covers for the jaws, if your filing up small parts you just squash them in the lead. And we had cork covers for holding stocks.

good job this is a respectable forum, a vices thread could be ever so interesting.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
