It's a tapping arm I think. Doubt it's too useful outside of a production environment but if you are doing lots of tapping you couldn't beat it. I appreciate him showing off a less common tool, though its not quite as interesting as, say, Stefan's Deckel pantograph.

The bloke demos it for Abom and it’s obviously out of vertical; 48:55

I was expecting them to come back and say yes, they’d been tapping holes at an angle and hadn’t re set the arm (which I assume is adjustable). Instead there was a lot of waffle about camera angles and distortion which it obviously is not. Then my comments disappeared.

A 500kg job rotating a bit off centre can easily cause the lathe to jump around.

I had a Bantam 2000, that one had been lifted by the chuck. I owned it for two years & it was noisy & not accurate, I got shot of it to a dealer (Nobila) lost a fair bit but was glad to see the back of it. A week later it was up for sale with POA after the photo.
New headstock bearings were over 400 quid a pop with vat, How much are Triumph bearings????
