Odd wheel bolts

Does anyone actually nick alloys these days, unless its Merc G wagon or something like that ? Used to be very common, but as everything seems to have alloys these days, the problem seem to have disappeared. At least around here.

In any case, the easy availability of removal tools seems to make locking bolts/nuts a waste of time anyways. IMO

This. First thing I do after buying a car nowadays is bin the locking nuts and replace them with plain ones.

I agree, scrotes don’t steal wheels these days, they take the whole car.

Car theft is down of late....


They all into selling drugs or tricking people out of money on the internet from the comfort of there own bedrooms on a laptop.

Coming out on a dark wet night and actually stealing something physical - is beneath them now...

If it were my choice I would do the same.
More trouble than they are worth.
The risk of losing the adapter, rounding off etc etc is likely a lot higher than having your wheels nicked these days

The actual tyres are usually worth more than the wheels on a lot of cars now.

The Goodyear tyres on my little van are probably worth more than the whole van !

Even my MOT tester commented on it.

Never considered this - but YES on some cars - you could well be right about the above...
