Obstructions in vehicle windscreen

Thats quite bad, a pedestrian walking out infront, old granny or child crossing through traffic, this will be harder to see them. It is quite common type of accident.

No, you have a suicide mirror, mounted near side top of the windscreen.

What is common, is the amount of people that don’t check it.

That's very true Steve , mind you my previous job I had a iveco stralis , the mirror over the windscreen was on the passenger side in the area that isn't cleared by the wipers , great in the winter when the screens constantly dirty .......

Who the hell designed it like that

Thanks for your input guys , no DaveB it doesn't retract into the dash !(it's a Renault not a rolls Royce ! Well with previous trucks I driven they had to remove forward facing cameras because of the mot regulations and they were right at the top of the screen ,
But as Bob says if it's OE manufacturer fitted it's pretty much anything goes .

Ok the pic was taken chest height but it still cuts off a fair area , enough for a yummy mummy and pushchaire to be invisible (under certain circumstances ) .

I'm sure I saw a Video a while back with a car being pushed sideways in front of a truck with the truck driver oblivious to its presence , might of been a Royal Mail driver ......,

Mate in work's sister - in a ford fiesta - pushed for ages allong a dual carriagway, people beeping, waving etc...
Strikes me to be similar to the lighting regs allowing vans headlights (and now trucks) to be car driver head height, now including drls...

The new scanias have those spotlights just below the windscreen , is that what you mean mutely ?? Seems a very strange place for them , I'm assuming there driving (spotlights ) lights ? Not fogs surely .....

Don't get me started on scrolling indicators , why just why ?! Why try and reinvent the wheel ffs
