Hi all
After getting my little mig welder, I started repairing some panels and although they have come out ok, I am out of my depth when it comes to the sill.
Not sure what is going on but someone has certainly played about with this before so I don't really have a place to start.
First things first, I have managed to get a sill made to shape, well there or there abouts as there are no body parts for the vehicle. I have taken few images so you can see what I see but a welder near me (he welds gates, not cars) said to be to put a 90º angle along the sill and screw it in place, that will give me a nice solid piece of metal to weld to and run a weld along that with my new sill. The problem I find with this is after reading up on it, I'm under the impression that a sill has to be welded, not bonded, screwed or any other type of fixing other than a weld, is this right?
How would you tackle this?
The front section seems to go up, maybe it's had a knock at some point, the middle section seems fine and the back sections appears to go rotten again. I've tried taking as many images to show the damage and hopefully get a clear answer as to what to do.
