I would do but got to swap the motor on the shaper.C
could always run a groove down the pulley bore with your shaper.

Yes it's arms length at the moment..keeps me busy when I not working..Lol. Your list of jobs must be as long as mine. Never ending.
OK . Do I need high speed with the carbide. ..will try it tomorrowHSS should cut it, just the edge will blunt quicker than with mild steel, unless of course it is really hard.
Not used HSS for years but with carbide I usually find the harder the steel the better the finish you can easily achieve.
I used it out the box. Just to experiment and see what works..the myford will only do a light cut..will try the carbide tomorrow as I used them the other day and finish was better..Have you played with the tooling or used it out of the box, only used a pre made hss tool once and the finish was not great.
A few seconds with the grinder and then a quick go over with a stone and performance was much better.
Do you think the myford will take the depth of cut required for a insert tool. Not had lots of experience (i like hss) with them but find they need a heavy cut.
Myford will be fine with a suitable insert, nose rad of 0.2mm or 0.4mm would be what I would use on a small lathe and a fairly sharp geometry....Do you think the myford will take the depth of cut required for a insert tool. So insert tooling is better. I did look at some but didn't think I needed them yet..Here is a vid of me showing how to set tools up in Mach3 and it is on the Conect 121 which is basically a ML10 like @Richard.
If you go to 2mins 40s you will see me taking a cut with an insert tool. This was also with slop in the X as I had the lathe dismantled earlier as I was removing the motors and controller for use on my Plasma build. Someone reminded me I had promised to do this video so I had to quickly put things back together and never adjusted the gib properly and thus there is slight vibration.
