Newbie advice please - welder needed for single job

Mac do a set of allen key sockets of the internal type that are for taking out damaged allen bolts ,,,, they are expensive as a set , but if they will sell you one on its own it may save a lot of grief Ive used them on turbo mountings and heat exchangers that had no right to be coming out at all ,,, they sort of have a sharp edge and a twist , I normally dont put great faith in stud / bolt removal fandangos , tend to be more style than substance , but these are very very good ,,,, thought it would be rude not to mention them.

mac tools rbrt sockets look good , i do wonder did these strip because you used budget tools on them , i would have expected to snap a few off if seized and using a decent fitting tool

These MAC ones are big bucks and US too. The Neilsen ones you sent a photo of are more reasonable - have you any experience of them?

theres a Mac tools van like snap on , you should be able to buy just the one you want even if was a few bob its cheaper than a welder , or paying someone a grand ,,, I usually dont recommend tools or products , and if or when I do its because I have used them and found them to work well. With the set up you are looking at you get one go at it , it has to work ,,,, I dont own any neilsen stuff and never will , its in the same bracket as silverline or the likes.

it was just as I hadnt found the Mac tools pic but wanted to give you a rough idea of what I was on about , the mac ones look odd , but its your best chance , I think you will probably end up destroying the plastics though ,,, same as usual , if I was local I would call past and give it a go ,,, I do a fair bit of this sort of work for a few local garages , when they get bogged in I get the call ,,,
