Would be easier to put a NEW 1/4 chassis on,,,,,
Whats the S.W.L on that there blue nylon rope
That's polypropylene that is, none of your nylon stuff there You can tie a cow up with it so it's pretty strong
You would have been better off buying one of these sections

and working back to a decent section of chassis, adding side plates and top and bottom sections as big as you can make them.
Looks like you are going to be chasing this one a fair way to find anything decent to weld to.
They aren't easy. Here's a picture showing the structure for reference. There's a rusty sleeve inside the chassis all the way around the relay.
Wondering why you aren't going for a nice new galv chassis on yours - much more fun than all that welding.

you ever tried fitting one? they take alot of persuasion. i fitted a mate cross member a couple of months ago, boy was it fun, not.
It always beats me why people spend soooo much money on repairing LR chassis's when a new one is so little. Once you have farted about getting the new section to fit, and then ultimately down the road, rust mites didn't just eat that part, you know
I would really think deeply about restoring the chassis, you will never get rid of all the rusted weak points. It will just come back to haunt you.
Luckily I learned from my mates and others, it never crossed my mind, just went straight to a new chassis
Richards Chassis @ Doncaster are a good set of guys, give them a call.
