Interesting that you're using inkjet for stickers. I'd have expected the colour to run when it got wet.

I've been using pro-grade multifunction Laser printers for a few years now, HP in the office at work and Lexmark at home office. Being MFCs they're rather bulky and buying toners makes me wince, but as printers and scanners they work very well.

We cold laminate after printing and before cutting on the vinyl cutter. It's works well for small production runs.

Brother laser here B&W only, I got fed up of hearing my inkjet going through a cleaning cycle at about 2.00 am wasting my ink.

Anything except HP, even a quill and ink bottle!

I have to stand up and give HP credit for the reliabilty and economy of the B&W Laserjet 5 printer. I picked up our printer, an ex-office unit, around 2004, and acquired the "goesunder" duplex unit, for double sided printing, shortly afterwards. I have no idea how many tens of thousands of sheets we, and our family, have had through it, over the years. Cartridges are still available from reputable dealers (always avoid buying "new, old stock" cartridges that have been sat at the back of a stationary cupboard gathering dust for a decade). The last new cartridge was bought four years ago, for around 25GBP. We get through maybe six reams a year. Yes, it is large, and heavy, but I have no intention to swap it out for anything else.

Yep - I modified my stance a few posts later to ensure my ire, disdain and fury was aimed directly at their inkjet printers.

Also never had a problem (back in the day) with HP lasers.

Still prefer my current Brother though

After the HP 500 series desk jet it was all downhill with their ink jets

Friends dad was still using his HP500 colour ink jet, filling the cartridges himself until he passed in 2019

Only other maintenance it got was a quick scrub of the paper pickup rollers

Back in the day, HP used to do a spring loaded plate with some scotch pads glued on that you inserted into the paper tray and it would scrub the pickup rollers for you

Yes, their b&w lasers are way better, just avoid the ones with a vertical paper feed although there can't be many left now
