Hello all
I've just really found this forum. Most of my welding is now hobby or making bits and bobs. Learnt to weld as an apprentice mainly stick and Tig. I had a SAF Prestotig 200 AC/DC Tig but it died just over a month ago. I was struggling to find anyone to have a look at it and in desperation have given it to someone via a engineering agency but they dont seem to have a clue and I think its a lost cause. Its been a great wee welder, bit gutted that its not working. Typically I could really be doing with it and can't hang about waiting much longer.
I've got oxy acetylene and an old Esab Mig as well. I've never really got on with the Mig, its buried at the back of the garage. Having moved house I have a smaller garage than before and havent had time to build a workshop yet as the house needs so much work.
Anyhow the SAF PrestoTig owes me nothing I got it very cheap 2nd hand over 10 years ago and its paid for itself many times over. Having read the reviews section I'm going to get a EWM Tetrix 120 I think, I'm hoping to get a good few years service out of it.
The buying a welder section has been really handy to see what's what - as I haven't bought a welder in years.
