Thanks, I must have been out your way last week - doing some work at Dura House which must be near you.

Hey no probs, he is over your neck of the woods often, naval base and college. If you do contact him, probably best after the year, tell him Terry @ Edin college put you onto him, he may give you some pointers on a fix after you explain the issue, which was???????Thanks for the recommendation. The Tig is still in bits in the spare room, I've been that busy with work and trying to put the house back together before xmas that I haven't had time to do any more with it. I'll get the thing back together and take it to them and see what they recon. I ended up buying another welder but would like to get this one working, its been a great wee machine.
The machine has been slowly getting worse, which made me think it might be a capacitor. I used to get a U-P warning on it but after a while it would sort itself out and I could weld with it. Now when I switch it on its just U-P and it wont play. The code means unstable primary power supply. I have had a poke in it with some help from the electronics guys here but don't really know enough about electronics to go any further. So time to admit defeat and take it to someone who knows what they are doing I recon.
