Small update, the welder finally made it out of the shed to have the tyres inflated.
Not much else as still trying to understand / work out how to rig up a current regulator for the second welding unit.

Not much else as still trying to understand / work out how to rig up a current regulator for the second welding unit.

Thinking about it, a resistor pile is probably the economical way.
Doing it electronically will likely not be cheap, and by the time you experiment with cheaper bits, and blow them up, it will be even less cheap.
A resistor just sits there and resists, limiting current and doesn't blow up, much.
Could even be a simple big bucket with saline solution in it and two electrodes, just like a genny load test.
