That's mostly the limp wristed fitters who can't do a terminal up properly.

In this area SSE were fitting the self-connect meters that have the built in isolator and seperate terminal covers for incoming and outgoing. Its plain daft that this wasn't made a part of the smart meter specification when they had the chance.

I'd venture the tail clamping detail of the REC2 is second to none and why it's been the goto for years.

unlike the beautiful job NIE did on this one... (not quite IP4X)

(yes those are 25mm tails, and yes, both top and bottom of this incoming cutout enclosure were butchered the same)
