Im not happy having yet more of my hard earned extorted from me with some feeble excuse its going to stop the polar bears needing swimming lessons and or trying to make everyone drive an oversized milk-float

This and the all previous shower seem hell bent of sucking all the enjoyment of life for everyone, your only here once and all that .................you makes your money, you spends whats left how you chose, hopefully to enjoy some of it

I spent half my money on project cars, welders and various power tools (thanks in no small part to this forum!)..the rest I wasted!

Well, after reading all that and going through the Gubbinmint website, I am absolutely no wiser. According to the carts my VED will go down by forty or fifty quid because it's a van but my Reg doc says "car derived van" so I would bet they tax it just as a car, which, depending on which department you talk to it is, or isn't. Still can't get into the tip because its a van! You just know whats coming. It's going to be a car for tax purposes, I would bet you.

Soon they plan to ban cars entirely. The tax will be renamed Pedestrian Excise Duty, and it goes up by weight!

I didnt see that! They have added a 400cc band knowing that most are 600's.

A 650 twin might make similar power to a IL4 400, but will now be paying more than double!

I shall have to get the 250 back on the road!

Does your registration give a "Taxation class"? Our Land Rover is "Light Goods Vehicle", although it's actually a station wagon (back seats and windows).

No, I cant work that out I thought it was PLG, Private Light Goods but wouldn't swear to it.

Mine was too, but it was right at the date change from 3 door estate to lgv….insurance ended up a nighmare as some sites for LGV data base didnt find it, sites that did cars and vans did. Right pain. Van websites listed it as a pick up. Sold it to avoid the hassle’s .

Shame I liked it.

My FZR400 has 1mm oversize pistons, I wonder if that's more that 400cc?
