Mine is into "paranormal" and zombie films. Drives me to distraction, especially with the bull that these so called ghost hunters come up with and she believes every word, despite me pointing out the simple explanations.*
One of their regular bits of nonsense is "orbs" which are clearly insects reflecting the IR light and camera flare at other times. Oh and now you have me started.. The "spirit box". It is a downconverter from the 60KHz band to audio. It is designed to produce random words whenever a signal appears, which can then be "interpreted" by the idiots in charge of it. She isn't interested in my explaining to her how busy the 60KHz band is and that's just with bat's echo sounding.

*she went to Gloucester prison one very cold winter's night last year and the fact that her camera batteries died was taken as "evidence".

Can you tell how much it frustrates me yet?

There I'm lucky. We don't do piped tv.
A good collection of dvds and setup films to record on the free view box. (Mainly used for cbeebies ) and recently required prime.
Soaps and reality TV don't get a look in.
I did have to tolerate a docu on death row inmates last night but other than our tastes arnt a million miles apart. Most of what she says she isn't interested in I catch her watching intently. Including all 3 new star trek films.

Now if only I could get her Interested in trying to ride a trials bike again. (First time didn't end well. The 6yo cut her up and she whisky throttled.)

Soaps, Jeremy Kyle and the various "housewives of..." programmes get me heading to the garage, toilet, in fact anywhere but the lounge

My list must be longer than my arms & legs!

A typical example is today where I've done a mixture of jobs, But achieved very little it feels.

when I was a young apprentice, do the best u can I was told....workwise....always look at a cobblers shoes......He's always to busy to fix his own........

my miss's watches the TV crap when I've gone to bed (10,30 pm, I'm getting old) I'm very lucky, Had her 20 years (3rd marriage, hahaha) and well trained, a good help when pulling tractors apart and in the shop.......
never have to worry about justifing buying tools except big items, luckily got most ecept an AC.DC TIG........
worked all over the world between marriage's, nice to have a FRIEND at home.........OH, no kids anymore, they wern't mine anyway........sooner have a puppy.......hahaha......

I think I need to stop moaning about my missus - she hates soaps, reality tv etc generally the odd film and documentary is all we watch. River monsters and the walking the nile/Himalayas etc series with Levison Wood are favourites at the moment

Call the midwife sends me straight to the workshop. As for unfinished projects i have a few, A 1905 Saunders fast launch halfway through a total rebuild inc restored straight six sidevalve lump, a 1935 carvel sailing dinghy awaiting restoration, three BSA standards to restore, A boley 4LE to restore, about 5 or six guitars nearly finished, Current project which is nearly done a 14ft Sailing dinghy, The moggie 100 pick up goes in the shed next. Aint got time to watch telly.
Not taking on any more projects either!

SWMBO just added to my list of porjects. "i've seen some steel framed patio sofas i like on Pinterest but they are $5k they look really simple to make, if i get the cushions made up can you make all the frames for Spring?"

I like a good film and some decent tv but no soaps and reality tv is just a time killer, I have plenty of unfinished projects but no wife no kids, I have plenty of mates and family and we all help each other out, There is more to life than 9 to 5 and stress..

9 till 5 u get it 24 hours a day working for yourself and been on call the stress is handled by telling people where to go when u have had enough

I have plenty of unfinished projects too. Current one, (bar trying to get rid of some junk & stuff so that I can get into the front shed), is the little Rapidor. That's killing my access in the back shed, so trying to find the rest of the screws & bolts so that I can finish assembling it. Can't decide whether to keep it, or let it go & just concentrate on finishing the large Rapidor. Could do with the space, but it's one of the earlier Rapidor Minor's, when they just called them the "New Manchester Saw". I'm always in two minds when I know it's something I'm unlikely to drop on again.

On a tangent regarding clearing out, are old Nicad battery tools worth trying to sell? Batteries are all likely knacked, but there's some Makita, Hitachi, DeWalt etc. gear. Seems pointless to just have them sat there doing nowt.
