Will do mate. I reckon it would be about right for you but I'll have to look this other machine over befor eI commit to selling it. Truth be told I'll find it hard to part with. It's funny I didn't have any bother selling the Bantam or the South Bend even after the hundreds of hours I put into them but this little milling machine has never let me down even though it's never had any love.

look good little machines. if you decide i dont mind what nick its in as i would rather restore/fettle one. reason i was looking at the one you are getting. looking forward to seeing what your new is like closer up, well better pics.

It just didnt feel right this sale for me. first cash only on collection, as its for a charity sale, could of sent it him and he got it out of his account in cash as i offered to pay straight away. Then he said three weeks is fine for collection then next say wanting a day for it to be it collected.
If it dont feel right i soon loose interest. If it wasnt so dodgy feeling i would of taken 8ob`s offer. very kind aswell.

Most charity's nowadays need to account for donations as they seem not to trust cash being given to their representatives, hence requiring direct debit or a debit into their account.

I spoke to the guy last night the museum has been given a grant to build a new building and equip it with new machines so all of the old stuff has to go to make way.

I do understand what you mean by 'not feeling right' the advert is very short on details and none of the pics are close-up enough to actually show the condition. 'Good little runner' and 'lovely working milling machine' suggests it should be able to easily be put into service, which is what I want, but the pics don't suggest it's seen regular or recent use. Having a number of people start out interested and then turn their nose up at it is an ominous sign too.

All being well I'll be going there tomorrow. If the machine is honest I'll have no problem handing over the 550. If it's clapped out or I think it's deliberately ambiguous then I'll have to be added to his list of 'messers' and he can go on looking until he either finds a sucker or comes to realise it's not actually "worth 850 but I'm selling it for 550 to get rid of it" and sets a sensible price.

Atleaat your not to fat and look over it first off. As you say it looks unused aswell not recently.
