myford super 7 tufnol gears

I've not seen them in cast, imagine it would be a custom order. As an aside is there anyone round Manchester area that has the gear for cutting the teeth on the ones I have properly?

If you had a lathe you could buy a gear hobber and do it yourself

ooh go for them I would....wouldn't give a stuff about a little ratting of the gear train,can't be that noisy surely?

All the rest are cast iron, so another couple of rattlers will not make a ha'peth of difference.

If the Super7 has the same bore in the tumbler as the geartrain 20DP, then there is no reason why they COULD not fit, but the reason they are composite and not steel is a reason why they WOULD not fit.

If the proper parts are not available, then consider alternative materials, otherwise, stick with OEM.

Erm...maybe because he can't get the lathe working because he needs gears.

As Pete says, they don't affect the basic operation. The lack of a tumbler merely means no leadscrew power.
