Morning all,
If any of you remember earlier this year I moved to a house that needs quite a bit of money spending on it along with us wanting an extension. Because of this we decided to holiday in the UK instead of forking out a couple of grand on an abroad holiday.
Before Christmas I fitted a roll cage into my mates mk2 escort, he has a 15 plate 4berth motor home and instead of full payment he gave me a week in this. The wife and I took the kids to Cornwall and Devon and had the best time of my life in it. It was such a laugh from start to finish and visiting different places each day showed us just how stunning our homeland really is.
We stayed in Redruth but visited Portreath, Devron, port Towen?, st Ives but could park the motor home so drive through it and Lands end.
We then drove to Dawlish for the rest of the week and visited Paignton, Torquay (my uncle lives there), and Babacombe.
Cornwall was my favourite and we have vowed to go back next year to pick up on what we missed. The van was a cracker but driving down the narrow roads was a bit dubious and I hit a few over hanging trees. I told the missus if we did it again we should use a caravan so we can pitch up and get around in the landrover instead.
So, a soon as we got back we started looking for a caravan and as luck would have it my boss has ordered a brand new one and I've just bought his. It's a 1993 Bessecar 600gl for those in the know. 24ft long twin axle 4 berth.
She has a bit of damp due to a failed window rubber but it'll be an easy fix.
I've posted some pics of our trip and the motorhome and some of our new caravan.
