it's surprising how much they can lift once you get the mast back and the front wheels under the weight

For the sake of £6 free delivery I didn't bother. 50mm ball bearings are pretty hard to come by.

I’ve made them from box to slip over the tines as above, rather than drill, but I just get a stub of 50mm bar about 100mm long and radius the end a bit then weld it on the box.

Easier to move ball hitch trailers about as you don’t need to keep gettting on and off. Ring hitches like yours it doesn’t matter.
