They work very well.Bought a set of something similar on Amazon, should be here Monday
‘expansion joints’? Are they cut right through, or just an inch deep or so? If they are shallow I’d imagine they are more crack lines, or what ever the proper name is, so if your slab shrinks and cracks, it does it in a neat controlled place.
I’ll find out in the morning, but I suspect it’s my terminology that’s incorrect, either way they need filling
A bit of a misnomer but that's what they are, somewhere for the concrete to crack with out it being an eyesore. There are some good guidelines online about whether you need them or not depending on slab size, depth, mix and whether you use steel reinforcement. When I poured my slab I was marginal so decided against them and so far have got away with it (phew!)‘expansion joints’? Are they cut right through, or just an inch deep or so? I recall seeing concrete paths and pavements having wooden battens laid between sections, was that for expansion or simple layout?
Expansion i believe
I lived there but no work for a Englishman and my eldest daughter wasn’t admitted into lycee because she was English even though she passed interviews with her French name, perfect French and non English skin tone . Head apologised but said it wasn’t worth the trouble he’d get for a English taking the place of a French person.Whereabouts is it in France? Why have you abandoned the project?

Did you not know that the French were not keen on the English.
The only way you can land in France is with plenty of money - then they will be happy to to take it while you spend it.

From the age of 6 all children should be accepted into a state school.
Private schools, more complicated.
