Amine compounds are quite commonly used as corrosion inhibitors. The nitrogen atoms in amines have a lone-pair of electrons on them which are free to form chemical "bonds" (adsorption?) with the surface of clean metal. In doing so they create a barrier resisting (to a good extent) further chemical attack.That's hexamine fuel tablets? I wonder how that works chemically?
Yep, good 'ole citric has done a good job on those vices, and it's so safe and cheap

These days, OSHA would absolutely s**t a brick if they saw that. Luckily, no one ever had an accident, and ironically perhaps, the owner, old Mr. **** lived well into his 90s and was still working full time.
