Thought I would post up progress of my cabinet build so far. I have taken ideas from different sources, so if you see an idea here that was originally your own, I thank you for the inspiration.
Starting with an oil drum, I needed to make a door. Simply 2 different diameter sheets of ply glued together and mounted to the drum on 3 studs welded to the inside of the drum.
The window unit is simply a wooden photo frame (with glass) bought for £6 from B&Q. I mounted it to a seperate wooden frame I fabbed myself to allow me to shape it to fit over the ribs on the drum.
I lucked in with the frame. Picked up some tubing which was originally a trampoline, from my local tip. A bit of cutting and welding to shorten the length to fit the drum, and hey presto! The legs are push fit so can be removed if I want to transport the frame elsewhere. The bars came already bent with a slight V shape, which is a nice touch for the drum to sit snuggly on without movement I thought
Hopefully I will have more pics of progress my the end of the weekend.
