I moved an M300 yesterday, about the same weight (ish)
It has a tapped hole in the bed for a lifting eye

Then used a 1t engine crane to lift it into my home made skates, these are simply 2 pieces of 18mm ply with some 4x2 sandwiched between them and rubber shod casters from machine Mart
Lathe is strapped to the skates with ratchet straps for moving. It can be moved carefully by 1 person but 2 makes it easier.
Once outside, lift it up with the crane and reverse the trailer under, drop it, pull forward to get the balance and then strap it down.
Have now shifted 4 M300's, Boxford, Colchester, and my mill using this method
That is exactly how Ive done it, though have to say, the hiab option is far easier.
The large nylon wheels move over school / college type floors with out damage. It was an old colchester master I helped a mate take out of a college. Was about 100 yards of corridors as the easy route out was down a couple of steps.Yes, but do we know how far @Brad93 will have to move it through the building to reach that stage?
Nothing to worry about, if it does not run true then stone off any high spots you find.Picked the lathe up but a bit concerned about the taper which I didn’t get a chance to look at last time.
What do you guys reckon?
Schools for youThat'll be ok. Some previous user has not been too careful about cleaning swarf from the tapers when changing chucks.
