I think the Covid shut down has resulted in the pistons in my old Celica, seizing up (both front wheels were binding a fair bit). Taking the calipers off, I use compressed air to get the pistons to move forward a few millimeters (they were stuck but eventually gave way), but I could not push them back in manually, but only by using a G-clamp. My thinking is that a caliper in good condition will allow the piston to be pushed in (slowly) with two thumbs. The calipers are 19 years old, had all the seals replaced some years ago, and even at that time the chrome plating on the pistons was giving a way to a little corrosion. I have not yet removed them but I think they must now go???? I could probably get a few more years out of then by cleaning them up, but especially with brakes, there's a time when extracting the last bit of use may not be the best way to go. Any thoughts?
