Seriously, can anyone tell the difference between 26, 27.5 and 27 inch? I get it that tyres are a huge thing and vary acvording to use.

It’s proven that bigger wheels are faster!

I rode a 29” full suspension bike & I didn’t even notice half the bumps I was flying over

The main downside to larger wheels is they aren’t as nimble in the tight section. The initial inertia to get them going/accelerating/rolling is definitely noticeable imo

After starting this thread i sold my mountain bike

The problem i see with modern bikes is they are too good

170mm suspension, massive fat tyres, disc brakes and quite often an electric motor

I will stick to my vintage Raleigh, gets more looks and attention than yet another £2/3/4/5/10k off the shelf bike

I am building a gravel bike out of a 1970's tourer, because why not
