Hi guys,
I was given an old side car some time ago which I never got round to fitting to my then bike/now stolen memory. I've now bought an old Zephyr 750 which is currently completely standard (though likely to look fairly cafe racer soon as I've got the cash).
My issue is all the side cars I've seen bolt on to a frame mounted onto both sides of the bike, fixed to the engine mounts etc. I want my sidecar to be easily removeable and ideally just bolt straight onto the existing frame. I don't want to modify the bike to take the side car in anyway that could affect the bikes handling/performance or ideally looks in its solo form.
I'd be grateful to hear from anyone with previous experience in this field. I'm hoping to be able to fit detachable bodies to the chasis of the side car, one for carrying steel supplies etc for our business, one for passangers and one for adventure touring with full camping kit etc.
Budget is pretty well zero sadly but I've got the facilities of a decent size workshop with a couple of work benches, tig welder, mig welder, plasma cutter, mechanical hacksaw and full complement of tools etc.
Cheers
Phiz
