Yeah...I paid once many years ago...the builder chipped the hubs, so I stripped them down and taught myself....I do them for a few regular customers nowjust lov it all......made a good read.....
always wanted to build a wheel....just paid out for two to be done....ouch....
keep up the good work....
Nice doesn't come into it. Makes my fiddling around with a pair of xj650s and an xj900 bitsa laughable.
Your box of Yamaha bits didn't contain an 8 inch headlight lense did it by any chance? Need one for the 900 to sit between the fj1200 forks.
Ha....you need to pull your finger outSo you're now 3 projects further on than my XV750 cafe racer that I started before you did about 4 years ago
Excellent build as usual and I'll be following this one with interest.
Those forks do look like genuine Marzocci ones though with the webbed caliper mounts. It's surprising how many Yamaha and Ducati / Italian wheel and brake parts are interchangeable, the disc bolt centres are the same for starters.
No 1.6mm erwWhat’s the hoop made out of, conduit?
I wouldn't trust my rear hoop sitting on a rear hoop made of conduit!
Nice work Chris! Have you got any photos of how you fixed the hoop to the frame?
Insert and plug weld?
