edit, having said that, no issues with the caliper bolts, caliper's already off, 3/4 impact on the bottoms and a extension over a 1/2" breaker on the top ones. ended up taking the spring u bolts out of the front half of the hanger to get at the last bolt...

It’s all a bit tight, even the slogging ring is skinny.

For a one off job many years ago while working on a 40 ton capacity forklift, I purchased a 12 point 3 7/8 inch socket to undo a output drive flange on a transmission, and then machined 3/16" off the outside so it would fit inside the flange. £95.00 for the socket and then £35.00 for the machining, all for 5 mins work to change a seal.....travel + labour of course....

Few years ago I decided to swap out the faulty immersion heater element in the house hot water tank.
For some reason I decided to start this mid-morning saturday on a bank holiday weekend...
Girlfriend left to go "food shopping" with my bank card.

Element was top mounted and the tank was in an airing cupboard.
Spent a couple of hours fighting with siezed isolation valves, removing the shelf the tank was sat on, shorted neutral to ground while trying to disconnect the wires and tripped the electric off... had to undo a load of compression fittings on the pipes to lower the tank enough to extract the element without hitting the roof.. Job was going from bad to worst, was stuck in the cupboard, in the dark, trying to hold up the partially suspended tank on my knees..
As soon as I had everything precariously balanced I realised I didn't have anything in the house big enough to undo the heater element with.

Rang the girlfriend....

Well-over an hour later she returns.
Plumbtech was shut. Phone battery had died.
But, being a good girl, she had gone to screwfix.. but they don't have any 50-60mm spanners. Neither did toolstation. Luckily she wasn't stupid and figured the local agricultural suppliers would probably have a big spanner.
Hence why I own a 600mm long Bahco adjustable that I paid £245 for. Didn’t fit. Never used it for anything else since.

I'd say the Eclipse 75mm, which somone on here shared a few years back.

Its bloody huge. Think it was £7 or so on ebay at the time. Its been very useful!

I have impact sockets to 3 7/8" and some where I do have a 4" hidden in the fray.
The biggest have a 1 1/2" drive, and I have qty (2) impact wrench's with 1 1/2" drive, the largest has a eyebolt to suspend it.

Bought them at an auction, sorted out the multiples and sold them off.

Made a nice rolling cart to hold these, and the combination wrench's as well.
You'll note the nice, stout lifting ring I welded on top, I moved it with my skid steer.

Have never used them, and now I never want to have need to use them.

Actually, I have a 54,000 lb excavator, and a 48,000 lb dozer.
Both are pretty much scrap now, and I don't want to play anymore.

These work a treat with a big impact gun on them...

I also got a homemade set of three - my Dad made on a lathe with real fine threads for the force screws....

When using more than one separator - you don't put them at 180 or 120 degrees for a straight pull - you always put them on one side of the wheel too force them off from one side - if you understand what I am weakly trying to say...
