Recently bought a 67 plate Ibiza for my new commute to work. It’s done 20k. It’s the most basic spec model as I’m a bit of a technophobe especially when it comes to cars. Yesterday morning when driving down an empty road at 28mph it slammed the brakes on for no reason and pretty much did an emergency stop. A warning came up on the dash. I had a look through the book (first time ) and discovered it’s got a front assist feature or something that brakes for you if you don’t. apparently it can be upset by bollards, snow etc etc. FFS what a piece of carp. If someone was behind me we would have had an accident. The book says it can trigger at any speed up to 156mph. What idiot dreamt this up. I’ve found I can turn it off by going through the menus on the dash but it turns itself back on when you re start the car.
Knew I should have bought an old banger! Rant over, thanks for reading.
