I had to upgrade the lights on my 159 when I bought it as they were terrible! And if you need to change a main beam bulb - its almost easier to take the front bumper off and remove the lamp - you can get the clip undone, get the bulb out . . . you can just about get the new bulb in . . . but getting the clip back on . . .!!!Whwn I took my Alfa Romeo 156 for its first service. I mentioned the crap lights. The reply. “You dont buy an Alfa to drive in the dark.” No one can see you in it.
I fitted a scoobynet bulk buy HID conversion into the dipped beams of my Lancia integrale 24 ish yrs ago - they weren't cheap, but the difference and actaully being able to see where I was going was worth it. Took them out 8 years later and fitted the halogens back in to sell the car - and had to resort to using front fogs too - my pet hate! Fitted the same conversion kit into the replacement integrale - still working in it now!
