What point are you trying to make? The last I heard was that for every new position as a trainee astronaut, there are 25,000 applications.

It was a popular (well, maybe not the correct word) joke at the time - "What does NASA stand for?" - "Need Another Seven Astronauts". There were loads around the Challenger disaster, I won't derail the thread with them.

The asteroids in the belt are on average 600,000 miles apart. You won't need to be Luke Skywalker to avoid one.

I'd rather we spent the money sorting out this planet before we ruin another one.
