Really??? Ha ha.
I wouldn’t. Don’t get me wrong it’s a highly skilled area of welding and good brass can be earned from it but I’ve done my fair share of laying in the crap for long shifts running teams on site welding.

I’m not afraid either mate.
I never did pipe welding but I used to do a lot welding on site from structural to general fab and quite a bit of overlay work and it’s a great experience if you get in with the right lot.
Dave if you want to be a pipe welder then be a pipe welder mate. What’s stopping you.
Your still young mate. Don’t forget zep is about 100 years old or more() so you’ve plenty of time to get to that standard.

You’d need to get yourself to a asme1X standard and go do some quals. Very much within your reach Dave if you put in the time.

I try to when I can matey just busy plus although my skills basic wanna show my wife to Tig weld steel and MIG welding some steel

Depends on the job if my budgets are right I can live on near anything as long as I can earn say 15000 a year then I could do it quite easily
