Why bother? Cut the wire close to the body and fit the new one.
The handle snaps upwards when fitted - it is Tweco - they are once use things.
You cannot lever it down without breaking it - I have tried before. I think at one time - you could buy spare handles thou?
I ended up cutting the cable with some wire spare, will have to make a connector if i ever want to use it again lol
Thank you all for the input though !
That's the truth of it, well said!Put it in the bin now, it will save you storing it for 10 years and then binning it.

I ended up cutting the cable with some wire spare...
Id prefer to keep it as a spare if im honest.
Ill have a go at pulling it apart but thought those circles might be screw covers that are impossible to remove...
I use Crocodile style holder ,the exact make and model are SACIT ,mod PARVA2 .The spring clamp types are great if you are doing a long run with 2.5 rods. If it's one tooth on a digger bucket with a 4mm a screw type is better.
Why not have both, I have both types set up on a 1m or so long lead then a couple of lengths of extension cable made up with male/female dinse connectors.
A mate of mine has got both types but he has glued the dinse connectors into the bottom of the handles.
Solution ?We always cut ours as they get hammered at the very end and they fray and corrode as they are always on site work, losing a few inches and making a new end often solves a lot of future problems.
