I wonder if they are ex military ? Maybe part of a machine gun field service kit ?
I went to this clearance place today as i was going to Barmouth and i have to say it is a nice place with plenty of stock, I found the prices good and still had a bit of wiggle room
Anybody remember those miniature tools that you could buy, spanners, a little hand drill, a complete tool kit in miniature that worked.
(he was from north of hadrians wall)
Well...I got an old ballot/tender box for £10 and a oak cabinet £20 for on the mantle to put a few collectables in and 2 60's/70's kitchen jars made by sylvac for £14 which were the beetroot and chutney ones i had not seen at a good price before. You can't leave it at that......... , spill the beans!
BA spanners are readily available on the web, I would have thought anyone who "tinkered" would know what they were. Older electrical stuff used it all the time.
Salesmen tend to think everyone's an idiot except them, generally it's the other way round thoughI know. it was the shock in the sales man voice when I told him it was a BA size.
was working in a house garage last month and there was a load of old crap tools all rusty and cheap ,I saw a set of brittool ba ring spanners in mint condition in the crap I asked the woman what she was doing with the stuff . she said its all going in the bin so I scored the spanners just couldn't leave themBA spanners are readily available on the web, I would have thought anyone who "tinkered" would know what they were. I have one of those too, it was my dads, he used to carry it around with a pocket full of other small tools when he worked as a setter in an auto shop, he always said it was handy for prising sixpences out of his mates hand for the machine at tea break (he was from north of hadrians wall) , its been in my toolbox for about 30 odd years and cant ever remember having a use for it.
