I've seen these tiny adjustables quite often round here.
I wonder if they were supplied with something like a sewing machine, or used to adjust machinery in weaving mills, or something?
Somewhere lots of staff might need one each - they really are that common round here.

Just to wrap this up, I was sorting these today and found the makers name Precision Metalworks Ltd on one of them.
That would explain the PCL stampings on some of the others (later ones I guess).
