This is what it sounds like.

Is it the gearbox bearings? Did you try clutching it and see if it quietens?

I think it wasn't fitted correctly as that's a shiny new wishbone...

That's meant to be there, it clamps up with a pinch bolt.

in the first 2 pics, to the right of the bolt, is that not a crack, looks like one to me.

If it is a crack it doesn't look cracked the whole way through going by the 3rd photo though.

The pinch bolt will have the slot between head and nut not to the side it's a crack

Could be worth taking photos of it and talking to Fiat as it could be a real problem or a Duga Duga man on the pinch bolt

I've had a look and it seems ok but it was dark.

Wonder which expert mechanic fitted that.
Take it the car was a private sale rather than from a car dealer? If the latter I'd be straight back to discuss it.

It was a private sale, the guy had no idea about car mechanics so I expect that was some back street lash merchant's work.
Looks like it hadn't been serviced properly for years!
