Sorry more dumb questions from the back…

How do you go about using a wheel that big?
A thin bit of sheet 42”+ is going to be more than a bit flaccid, would you have more than one pair of hands on the job?

Large panels are easier with two people and if you’re messing with big panels you’re a pro
Once shape is in they’re more controllable

Clive, do those patterns 'live' at the foundry? If so it might be worth checking out the insurance situation with the foundry. A mate who does 'new' vintage car bits lost a load of patterns and coreboxes (which he'd had professionally made @ £££) when the foundry had a fire. Customer stuff on the premises turned out to be uninsured, so said mate took a big financial hit.

I think selling forty mini wheels might have got to him
He doesn’t understand forces don’t scale only moments to a lesser extent so a 18” machine can’t be spindly and a column will have the same rocking motion so needs plenty of bearing

Found this in the back of an old sheet metalworking book. I never realised that a wheeling machine could be powered.
New model perhaps?. Anyhoo thought it might be of interest.

Yes going to Poland. Europeans can’t accept the best wheelers in the world are in the uk and prefer flats as full rad always has a small contact so WONT take any advice.
Metal finish is for losers anyway

Bored topwheel
Froze shaft with plumbers freeze spray and a drop of loctite and pushed in with the tailstock
Dsg bores dead parallel so nice and easy with a dead parallel shaft
