I know my 18v makita grinder really needs 5ah batteries or more.
Is the M12 stuff the same ?

All depends how hard you use it,same with any battery tool really

I reckon pretty good, m12 4.0ah seems to last an age.
My m18 4.5 inch grinder certainly likes a battery or two.

Not worth the risk, IMHO. If you're spending good money on good tools, best to go the same route with the batteries. OEM every time, for me.

I think it’s pretty power hungry with small batteries but I don’t use mine that much. Mines left with a 2ah battery for quick jobs but I put a 6ah in when I need to use it in more anger

First of the M12 range I bought was the straight Die Grinder and I am now convinced I need the angled one, I love them and have quite the collection now, hoping they will bring out a 12 volt 4" angle grinder but I won't hold my breath.

I use an adapter (6mm to 3.4?) To use Dremel quick change diamond cutting disk and shank. An 8mm to 1/4" collet adapter to use the Snap-on carbide dies on the straight M12 Die Grinder.

I mainly use the 6mm 2" Roloc mount on the 90 degree M12 Die Grinder.

I like the 2 or 3 ah batteries on the straight one, nicer to hold, normally a 6ah in the 90 degree one as it gets some stick sanding etc.

It's not unknown for aftermarket batteries, especially from questionable sources, to lack the same safety features that the OE manufacturer's include.
Biggest risk being that they go up in flames.

Rare for anything copy to be as good as the original.

Project farm on ebay did a test on milwaukee versus copy batteries. After watching that its safe to say I'll only be buying genuine milwaukee batteries for my tools.
