MILWAKEE M18 IMPACT WRENCH'S!

OK so I have the older M18 fuel mid torque impact wrench M18 1/2", It does lack power for some jobs and I have to bust out the mains clarke gun to get the job done.

is this other 1/2" milwakee impact wrench the higher torque model? if so is it any good and do the torque figures tell the truth

HI is the high torque one.

That’s the one I have.

Good / new battery it’ll take the nuts off a lorry wheel. I did it for a laugh, just to see, wouldn’t make a habit of it!!

Brushless motor I guess?

Many 18v(21v) brushed motor tools are more than capable of running at 6 series (21-24-25v) which will give a decent amount more power (check the switch is rated for it!)
It would be interesting to try with a brushless but quite likely it would either refuse to run or let the magic smoke out, so cant recommend trying on anything important or good condition.

As with all things, good battery makes a big difference. Good condition as well as plenty of aH.

Don’t need to say it on here, but a good quality socket it’s a game changer I find.

By nut 10 it was having a sense of humour failure but it did it just give it all the ugga duggas and send it seemed to work…..

Dunno what your budget is, but a nekkid 3/4 isn’t a lot more than a nekkid 1/2 if you hit it right

i dont need 1" drive I know that! is the 3/4 more torque?

Think the 1/2 is a bit less.

thin id rather the 1/2" I dont have any 3/4 sockets and an adaptor takes up valuable space sometimes

3/4 inch packs a fair bit more punch than the 1/2 inch. Downside is the 3/4 inch sockets are pretty spendy

I’d buy the 3/4 anyday. But that’s for what I do. You’ll be fine on 4x4s with the 1/2 I’d think.

I have a friction ring () but wanted the pin. It’s a pain in the hoop but if you’re not changing sockets every ten seconds it’s handier than having them come off. My dewalt was a pin.

Milwaukee costs more with a pin somhad to settle for a hog ring.

I've one of those. It won't quite undo the nuts on my JCB 3CX, but then - I do do them up with a 6 foot scaffold bar and my not inconsiderable mass !

Powerfull beast though.

Never heard that before, but I may be wrong. Often am.

I thought / knew the main reason was work at height. Which is why I prefer it. Stops the socket falling off at a nuisance moment.
