I refuse to fit CC cages any more. More hassle than just making one from scratch.
I agree, never again...

I often wonder about that as there are so many guys n gals over thier with the backwoods I can fix anything approach
All great until you realise that an accountant from baltimor is not the best guy to work on s cage - no matter how many u- tube clips they might have watched
And I thought I had seen some farmer rubbish
If tube benders weren't so expensive I'd quite enjoy a sideline fitting cages.
I don't mind it, but they're not fun by any stretch of the imagination after doing a few!
Spaceframes are great though, no laying upside down in a footwell welding to old steel with spatter in your earholes!
Thell all fail if they ain't put down properly dispite the process . Mig welds more commonly fail on lack of fusion. The tiny tig weld if performed correctly is much stronger than you think.I am not belittling your comments chaps, but I have seen some tig welds that look beautiful but they have cracked through the weld, for instance steering arms on westfields, some custom make tubular wishbones etc when the car has had an 'off' and have broken on the weld, not the the heat affected area. It seems sometimes welders go for beauty, above strength, and even for professional welders it is not allways tig creates the best weld. it allways makes me wonder when you see a tiny tig weld bead on quite large items.
I make toll cages for a living and I mig every single cage I've made. You can weld a root pass strong and even " mig like tig" a second to give it a designer look it all depends what your making the cage from etc. have you hired somebody to make your cage yet? And what material
