Lining up the front is going to be fun. My front didn't need much repair and even then the wings didn't fit. I had to push the front of the wings backwards about half an inch while bolting them up. Though yours look a better fit than mine.

Getting somewhere, very slowly! I had to cut the bottom edge off the inner sill reinforcement beam, it was too wide across the flanges by 1/2" but when I reshaped it the lower flange stuck out and pushed on the chassis rail, so I cut it off and will spot weld a new flange on.................. I may need to add a bit to the rear edge of the front wing but will leave that until I have welded up the sills etc.

I really want to start welding bits back together soon! I need to patch the bottom of that rear wing..........

I used the treadle spot welder to weld the "F" to the rear inner pillar and the inner sill together with the outer sill, I then used the hand held spot welded to attach the sub assembly to the car, the bits I cannot easily weld will be done when I remove the body for painting. I have now started on the front left corner, should go a bit easier as I now know that most of the repair panels need modifying!

That channel was always a bit rusty, bugger to remake, curved in both directions, and the corner piece ++++++++ good job only one side was rotten!

First drive in some time! The road past my house was closed on Saturday for an estimated 10 days so I got busy getting the MG ready for a road test to check mainly the overdrive and gearbox before removing the body for painting, but the buggers opened it after 3 days........... I suspect it will be closed again soon to rectify what ever cockup they made fixing the gas leak....... next some lead then topstop and primer! The body will be dropped onto the torpedo trolley you can just see behind it for final paint.

My road was closed to replace a damaged telegraph pole a few days ago so I took the opportunity to road test the MGA, I fitted the rear wings and wired the overdrive to a switch taped to the scuttle, blasted up and down the road a few times, temp and oil pressure (40 at idle, 60 running) were good, gearbox and overdrive perfect, the small Girling brake servo did not work though, it was bought at the last September Beaulieu jumble as an unknown unit, obviously rebuilt and unused but maybe some time ago, I suspect that maybe some assembly rubber grease has hardened up and something is stuck! after the road test I leaded (badly) the joints on the front shroud and I am now onto the filler stage.
