it depends on how fat your wallet is and what u want to spend but there available from america for 50 quid inc delivery on ebay. i scored a good nick albrecht keyless chuck from the bootsale for a tenner the pillock didnt know what he was selling then i told him the real price real big £££££that made him happy ,there the dogs doodas of chucks

i need to pull this back as im wanting to get this up and running now

i have the 4 step startrite pillar drill

i need to wire this up to a 240v motor through its s original switch and also get a 4 step pulley thats already been ordered for this

im not so sure of the v belt size for them could anyone advise on size of belt needed for this pillar drill please

most oldies are a size . for length to fit new motor adjust the mounting plate mid way and use some string round pulleys the get length required and measure it

You said it was a ten speed machine. It looks as though that's correct from the video, you have an epicyclic pack above the chuck. It looks as though the handle is missing, but if you can find something to fit in the hole, you turn it about 30 degrees either way for a low and high range. When you want really slow speeds, as in the video, you should really be in low range. It's a lovely set up, far easier than changing over back gears on most pillar drills, really slick to change speeds. My old one had a morse 2 taper incidentally, and was an eight speed, which is very early. Basically I kept it on the middle pulley and just used the range change for going from pilot hole to main hole.

julian its a 2014 post that ive pulled back up as it has some info on it im considering doing, but for now i kinda just want the pillar drill up and running instead of it being sat there doing nothing
