Going by the theory that if you maintain a few older cars there’s a very good excuse to own some specialist tools.
So this would come in handy, actually specifically for me just now.
I’m thinking of buying this, it’s a fraction of what you’d pay if you were a garage business using it regularly but for a diy person perhaps ok? But my reason for posting this is if theres a better option I’d like know what it is

I haven't bought one yet. I have many other things I want to buy first so unless a used one comes up it'll be a long time unless I have an issue where I think one is useful.

I nearly bought a cheap one, but it worked out cheaper to have it diagnosed and repaired in a garage than buy the machine

It’s going to be good if it it’s made by Launch, but then that’s your bread and butter so it needs to be good and last a long time.

To be honest it is not tool I use allot - most obvious vac leaks and the like jump out at you.

Yeh that’s the reason I haven’t bought one yet, but then there will come a day when I wish I’d bought one because I need one.

It not an exact science either - fill what you think is a plastic intake manifold with a leak - up with smoke and the smoke comes pouring out of the air box.

Yeah smoke testing does have it's place - it does...
