Morning,
I have a peice in the lathe right now for a collegue, some spigot rings, they need to have a I/d of 2 3/4" (69.85mm), as I got close to size I went to grab a telescopic gauge only to realise my random collection of gauges doesn't have one big enough, doh.
The results are too inconsistent with the Digi calipers.
I'm not particularly keen on buying a set of gauges right now, decent ones aren't cheap and I'm not keen on cheap measuring devices, thought how bad could telescopic gauges be?
I would like to get pretty close to size, within a thou or two, any ideas? I have plenty mics but not much else.
I considered changing chucks and turning a plug almost like a go/no go gauge?
Alternatively does anyone have a spare telescopic gauge the right size for sale?
Cheers
