It's rotted from the inside, was full of sand.
Unfortunately need it back together for Friday morning...next to zero chance of getting a 2nd hand housing in Glasgow area. It's for a classic Saab 900
Classic 900 was the last of the proper saabs so unfortunately no.Any chance these lads could help? http://www.perthcars.co.uk/ What's a new part likely to cost? If Friday morning is crucial this may be the only way.
Does the 900 series share any common parts with Vauxhall?![]()
It may just have been something they had from another model instead of manufacturing a new component or may have been to do with bulk filling coolant at the factoryA plate was my other option, really don't understand the point of the housing, the early cars, afaik, had a plug straight into block
If you are on Facebook, could try asking the Scottish Saab Enthusiasts. I loved my old 900, I have plenty Saab bits but all to suit my Saab 96 V4.It's rotted from the inside, was full of sand.

Could you put a 1.5mm plate under the original part so it has support?Consensus seems to be favouring a plate.
I've 1.5mm steel sheet to hand, do we reckon a double layer to make 3mm thick with RTV would be good enough?
