Another bit broke off housing so gave up trying to use it as a support to plate, really is totally rotten.
So i had to make a plate...
Unfortunately short of cutting chunk off step, no ally to hand. Again no scrap steel plate either, decided against chopping vice base.
All that i had of any use was 5mm flat bar and 1.5mm galv sheet.
Anyways, a plate-like shape was cobbled and is now on car with some sticky gooey splodge.
Moment of truth will be in an hour, the cure time.
