As above...i have an unbranded mask and recently it has stopped working, seems to have internal battery's as there is no way in to the cell unit..have had it for an hour in the sun to recharge but to no avail, do these things just die?. I have my posh Lincoln i bought off Richard but i always like a 2nd mask to keep on my head when grinding hence a cheapy (not working) one

If its not working you have nothing to lose by opening it up, you may find that the power cells are tagged and rechargeable, but a few minutes with a soldering iron will usually sort it, you could buy a battery clip and extend the wiring outside the lens, using a couple of AAA's then velcro / glue it to the inside of the shell.
Expect it to look something like this inside, this was an early Esab Eyetech mask
