Not to plug up @Parm thread on his Makita drill......
I was wondering if anyone owned this style of Makita drill? It the brushed 18V LXT battery type.
Im just about to send one back which I bought as a replacement due to the front bearing failure, or too be exact the moulded housing around the front bearing? Its my first foray into Makita having used Dewalt for years without issues. The runout on the chuck I noticed again on the weekend is wobblier than a wobbly thing .........Ive only had it 6weeks and its hardly done any work? When you've got a long drill in, there's easily 2-3mm runout at the tip when you start loading it......When my previous one, this current drill, replaced failed, I had to destroy it to take it apart as the chuck was seized on. That also started showing signs of a wobbly chuck. The casing on the moulding was clearly not supporting the bearing anymore when I finally got in there? Im not going to attempt to destroy this one, so sending it back. Trouble is Ive got the batteries now so don't want to completely change over to another make again. Just wondering if any of the forum regulars use one on a daily basis? I know there are Makita knock offs about but this was bought from a reputable source, same as the last one was? Its got a made in Romania sticker on it?
Cheers
